2021-22 School Year update from Mrs. Horton

It is my pleasure to welcome your child back to Sutherland Elementary for the 2021-22 school year.  The Sutherland Staff has worked very hard this summer to prepare for this school year.  We are aware of the challenges that our students faced this past year with the pandemic.  We have set our expectations high to help students make up for learning loss and to engage them with their grade level content.  This challenge is not to be taken lightly – it is going to require all of us to support and help our students.  But we can do this!
There are 3 things that you can do right now to help your child succeed.  First, make sure your child comes to school every day.  Second, check in with your child about their homework and read to your child.  Third, connect with our school.  Attend conferences, activities, and events.

PERTUSSIS (WHOOPING COUGH) IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS

All students entering the 7th grade must provide proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school.

We encourage all families to get their child’s booster shot as soon as possible and then bring in the updated immunization record to your school site this school year.
