Our Vision

To create a school environment that upholds respect, academic rigor, and inclusivity, where every individual feels connected and supported. We strive to maintain the highest standards of integrity, ensuring that every member of our community feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

As a professional learning community, we, the staff of Sutherland Elementary, are committed to the expectation that all students can learn grade level standards. We utilize state and district priority standards to guide instructional decisions that work towards increasing student achievement in a positive and supportive learning environment. Time is dedicated each week for staff to set learning goals, plan instruction, review data, and make adjustments to instruction to meet the needs of all students.

Our focus is on whether or not students are learning and how to respond when it is or is not happening. Through our implementation of the RCA House System, our students build relationships with students across grade levels and with multiple staff members. Through House Meetings school expectations are taught and friendships are forged.

We implement PBIS, Positive Behavior Instructional Supports, to clearly teach school rules/procedures and reward students for making positive choices. We know that this work cannot be done without the support of our students families and our school community. Throughout the year, activities and events are held to provide our families with resources to support their child and be involved with our school.
